| I'm an amateur writer, photographer, and stitcher. Most of what I put up on here is photography, soon to be joined by my stitched pieces, with some poetry here and there. When it comes to photography, I just point the camera at what I think looks good, and when it comes out right--as these have--I count it as luck. Stitched pieces are different. I spend hours drawing out the design on graph paper before I even touch a needle and thread, making sure everything matches up. After that come many more hours of stitching, counting, tearing out, restitching and recounting, and sometimes even changing part of the design halfway through. I work very, very hard on these and am very proud of them. My poetry falls somewhere in the middle. I try to put down on paper a feeling, a moment, a piece of light through the window, and hope that I'm communicating it effectively. On the non-artistic side of my life: I have an Associates in Marketing, work at my local Curves, and am v e r y slowly working my way toward doing freelance editing to help bulk up my money situation. |
